At Olympic, we are passionate about supporting youth sport, and it’s been an exciting journey sponsoring the Rustenburg Girls’ High School 1st hockey team this season. As they near the final stretch of their school hockey year, we caught up with their coach for an update – and let’s just say, this young squad is full of heart, hustle, and serious potential.

A Season of growth

“It’s been a bit of an up and down season in terms of results,” the coach shared, “but that was to be expected with a young side in a rebuilding year.” While wins and losses have been mixed, what’s stood out most is the development and growth of the team – on and off the field.

“They’ve really started to find each other beyond just hockey,” Olu added. “That connection off the pitch is starting to show in their gameplay- and that is exciting.”

It’s not just the players who are fans. “I can’t get enough of the Bounce 3s,” he laughed. “If there are any spares lying around in the back somewhere, look no further! 🤭😂”

For a young team in a transition year, the Rustenburg girls have shown courage, resilience, and a real sense of team spirit. We are proud to be backing their journey – and we are hopeful that this partnership continues to grow, just like they are.
